Abby Sears is the president and CEO of OCHIN, a nonprofit leader in equitable health care innovation and a trusted partner to a rapidly growing national provider network. As a business leader and community advocate, Abby has been with OCHIN since its inception, stewarding its growth from a $7 million organization focused on hosting electronic health records for 20 Oregon health centers to a $250 million national consultancy.
Today OCHIN supports more than 33,000 providers at over 2,000 care delivery sites across 43 states and Washington, D.C. with the clinical insights, practice-based research and tailored technologies needed to help more than 6.1 million systemically underserved patients access the quality and comprehensive health care they deserve. Under Abby’s leadership, OCHIN now employs a diverse virtual workforce of over 1,000 technologists, clinicians, data scientists, and innovators, 70% of whom are women—more than twice the tech industry average.
A prominent speaker and HIT advisor with over 20 years of health care expertise, Abby is a member of many regional and national boards. In 2023, Abby was recognized as one of the Top 50 Women Leaders of Oregon. She holds an MBA and MHA, both from the University of Minnesota.
