As 2023 draws to a close and we look forward to the year ahead, we are proud to reflect on the significant milestones our OCHIN network has achieved to improve the health of local communities nationwide. By choosing OCHIN as their innovation partner, more than 230 organizations and 30,000 providers at more than 2,000 delivery sites continue to expand access and improve outcomes for some of our country’s most systemically marginalized and medically underserved communities.
Here is a summary of 2023 milestones, bright spots, and leading outcomes, thanks to the OCHIN network:
Building on more than 20 years of experience supporting ambulatory care organizations, OCHIN analyzed persistent gaps in rural health care delivery and chose to launch OCHIN Epic for acute care in June 2023.
In April 2023, after a three-year hiatus, our members from across the nation gathered in Las Vegas for inspiring discussions, best practice sharing, and peer-to-peer collaboration.
In March 2023, we received a $15 million grant to rebuild, strengthen, and diversify California’s health care workforce through job training and placements.
2023 marked the second consecutive year that OCHIN received Epic Gold Stars Level 9 distinction and the sixth consecutive year that we have achieved Level 8 or above.
In August, River Hills Community Health Center became the first of 11 health centers in Iowa to go live with OCHIN Epic as part of a nearly statewide collaboration.
Our first prime National Institutes of Health R01 award will address social risk screening and intervention by testing the support health centers need to effectively use new technologies to connect patients with community resources.
OCHIN is thankful for the valuable work our members did this year to improve the health and well-being of rural and medically underserved communities nationwide. We look forward to continuing to be a trusted partner to our members and providing solutions to drive health equity on a national scale in 2024!
