As 2024 draws to a close, we take pride in the significant growth and impact the OCHIN network has achieved by collaborating to expand access to affordable, whole-patient care.
Together with our OCHIN Epic members, Health Center Controlled Network (HCCN) participants, research partners, OSIS, and many others, we have demonstrated what is possible when we combine our strengths to transform the health care system for the benefit of patients and providers.
Here is a snapshot of this year’s collaborative progress and major milestones made possible by harnessing the integrated power of the OCHIN network:
We transformed care delivery and fostered sustainability.
In July, we partnered with OSIS, a national nonprofit organization, to expand electronic health record platform options for providers. This collaboration ensures reliable access to high-quality, equitable care, supports health center sustainability, and drives innovation.
We enhanced member and clinician experience.
An analysis of OCHIN’s Builder programs, designed to help members optimize OCHIN Epic, revealed that these programs improve team efficiency, ease stress, and reduce burnout, ultimately increasing provider satisfaction.
We strengthened the resiliency and value of OCHIN’s platform and service portfolio.
OCHIN’s HCCN provided consultative support to help health centers optimize their use of health information technology. This support fostered continuous quality improvement in four key areas, including enhancing cybersecurity through no-cost security risk assessments.
We promoted the development of a skilled, diverse, and equitable health care workforce.
In February, we received a $2 million grant to strengthen Oregon’s health care workforce by expanding technical training and creating new career opportunities in health IT. The program builds on our other OCHIN+ workforce development programs and initiatives to recruit and train a new generation of health care workers.
We connected care to support whole-patient health and well-being.
An eConsult partnership between two California organizations, facilitated by OCHIN Epic, has enabled patients to access specialized care regardless of their income or medical insurance status. This innovative collaboration highlights the value of a virtual specialty care network in connecting care for rural and underserved communities across the country.
Looking ahead
We are deeply grateful for the invaluable services our members provide to advance health equity in the communities they serve. As we enter 2025, we look forward to harnessing our collective strengths to maximize the potential of our network and continue transforming care to promote health and well-being nationwide.
