Around fifteen percent of women in pregnancy and the year postpartum suffer from common mental disorders such as depression (perinatal depression) or anxiety, yet evidence-based strategies to identify and treat these conditions are rarely used in their medical care. Uncontrolled blood pressure (BP) is the second leading preventable cause of death in the US, after smoking. While many efforts have been made to improve patient BP rates in clinics, BP control is often not achieved. To assist clinics in these efforts, OCHIN is partnering with the American Medical Association and other research networks to provide clinics access to the M.A.P. program, an evidence-based protocol to guide care teams in assessing and treating people with high blood pressure.Read More
