Cognitive Computing Models Now Available in Epic

OCHIN Epic has rolled out Cognitive Computing, statistical modeling aimed at improving patient care through risk identification, and early intervention.  As a component of our ongoing Healthy Planet implementation, the released models use AI or Machine Learning to predict the probability of a patient’s future risk of developing a negative healthcare event.  By identifying a patient at higher risk, clinicians can intervene at an earlier stage to help reduce the risk.

HRSA Quality Improvement Awards

This week, HRSA announced $107 million in incentive awards to health centers across the country. These dollars recognize high clinical quality performance and improvement, and are intended to support overall quality, efficiency, and value of health care delivery. OCHIN members and partners, who comprise over 10% of health centers awarded nationally, received a commensurate dollar amount.
