OCHIN has been recognized by The NonProfit Times as one of the 2023 Best Nonprofits to Work For. With this award, OCHIN has become a two-time recipient of this national honor, following last year’s recognition.
The ranking places OCHIN among 50 nonprofit organizations nationwide whose employees indicated an exceptional work experience via an anonymous survey assessing employee engagement and satisfaction. In addition to the survey, the two-part evaluation process included an assessment of OCHIN’s company policies, practices, and demographics.
“OCHIN is proud of the work that our more than 1,000 employees do every day to create a culture of belonging and support a stronger circle of care in communities nationwide,” said LisaMarie May, vice president of people and culture at OCHIN. “Our employees and the values they uphold among each other and our members—Learning, Heart, Belonging, and Impact—are what has helped OCHIN stand out for the second year in a row.”
OCHIN’s own employee surveys have indicated that current staff highly value the culture of belonging they experience. OCHIN continues to make significant strides to enable a diverse and inclusive workforce. We recognize that fulfilling our mission to provide knowledge solutions to drive health equity can only be done by cultivating a workforce that is reflective of the people our members serve. During OCHIN’s 2022 fiscal year, our 70% female, 33% non-white workforce spanning 49 states and Washington, D.C. grew by nearly 55%. We also supported the career growth of dozens of high school and college interns.
