OCHIN’s Health Center Controlled Network (HCCN) has received a $9 million award from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to fund its 2022-25 program cycle. This federal funding, which is the fourth HRSA award that OCHIN’s HCCN has received and the largest amount to date, will enable the nation’s largest HCCN to provide solutions expertise and clinical insights to 114 participating health centers (PHCs) serving over 2.5 million patients across 15 states.
The addition of more than two dozen new health centers to the OCHIN HCCN represents an 18% increase in overall health center participation with the new award.
“For more than a decade, OCHIN’s HCCN has partnered with health centers across the country to harness and optimize technology while fostering measurable quality improvement,” said Lindsey Haase, Executive Director of OCHIN’s HCCN. “We’re excited to expand our HCCN for the 2022-25 program cycle and to continue building a collaborative learning laboratory for insightful innovation that helps them drive health equity in their respective communities.”
Nationally, health centers provide critical access to a wide range of health care services for more than 29 million people in rural and medically underserved communities. This makes it essential for them to have ongoing access to tailored tools, leading-edge technology, and expertise that can help enhance team productivity and efficiency as they work to expand access to care and close national health disparities. The new cooperative agreement with HRSA will enable OCHIN’s HCCN to continue helping PHCs use health information technology (HIT) to enhance clinical quality, patient-centered care and provider and staff well-being.
