2019 CTRC/CTN Telehealth Summit

OCHIN Grand Rounds


At OCHIN, Grand Rounds are an essential teaching tool intended for a wide audience including researchers, patients, clinicians, students, and the general public. Our Grand Rounds utilize technology to enhance accessibility and allow for remote attendance from anyone. Presentations are focused around OCHIN’s research priority areas and include learnings relevant to community health centers and safety net clinics. Participants are encourage to take advantage of the ability to ask presenters their questions in real time. Registration is required, and opens a few weeks prior to each event.

Collecting SOGI data on patients is critical for health care organizations to provide a welcoming, inclusive environment and allow a better understanding of their LGBTQ patients’ needs. Routine SOGI data collection in the EHR can be used to measure and track health outcomes at the individual and population level.  The EHR is an important tool for managing quality for populations and developing quality and monitoring reports that can help reduce health disparities for LGBTQ patients.   Experiences and processes of implementing changes within the EHR, reporting, and workflows will be shared.

How the customization to an EHR can improve communication, data and quality management activities, clinical outcomes, and better care coordination.
