Kim Schwartz recently retired as the chief executive officer of Roanoke Chowan Community Health Center (RCCHC), a Federally Qualified Health Center in Eastern North Carolina. In this role, she championed the unique challenges of the health care needs of rural communities in underserved areas and generated key collaborations and innovations to advance RCCHC’s mission of enhancing the lives of Eastern North Carolinians. Kim led RCCHC’s team as a member of the Institute of Health Improvement (IHI) Leadership Alliance, represented U.S. Congressional District 1 on the North Carolina Medical Care Advisory Committee, and served as Vice Chair of the North Carolina Foundation for Health Leadership and Innovation. Also, as a Center for Courage and Renewal Facilitator, Kim led global retreats with Bounce Travels several times a year for clinicians and health care leaders focused on personal resilience.
Kim has many professional affiliations and frequently presents at national and regional conferences, including as an expert panelist in telehealth and population health. Kim was a recipient of the Robert J. Greczyn, Jr. Community Health Center Leadership Award, the National Association of Community Health Centers Cooke Advocacy Award, and the BD Building Health Communities Award. She received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology and Master of Arts in counseling education from University of New Mexico.
