OCHIN has always been committed to advancing quality, patient-centered care through safe and secure medical records sharing, supported by rigorous national standards to ensure patient privacy. Today, OCHIN joined a collective legal action led by Epic to protect and uphold the integrity of our national health information exchange frameworks against a growing group of fraudulent actors who are actively exploiting them for financial gain.
As a decade-long supporter of the Carequality interoperability framework and a recent signatory to TEFCA, we are taking this action now in partnership with Epic to protect our members and their patients, while raising awareness to address a growing public threat we see for the future of national health information exchange. By standing together, we aim to preserve the trust that patients and providers have long placed in data sharing frameworks to seamlessly connect high-quality care in service of their health and well-being.
