OCHIN Epic has achieved recognition in three premier evaluations from KLAS Research and Epic Systems, reflecting the tailored support and state-of-the-art tools OCHIN provides to its members. As the premier solutions partner for ambulatory and acute health care organizations serving medically underserved communities nationwide, OCHIN has also achieved Epic Gold Stars Level 9 for the third consecutive year and earned Epic Connect Accreditation+ status.
“When members are able to get the most out of their OCHIN Epic EHR, they are able to focus on what matters most—caring for their patients,” said Nicole Klassen Ellington, chief operating officer at OCHIN. “That aim is at the heart of OCHIN’s priority to drive operational and service excellence, and to continuously expand the level of support provided to members.”
OCHIN is a learning organization that strives to continuously improve our platform and processes to enhance usability, reduce clinician burnout, and increase EHR proficiency. While OCHIN is a leader in EHR solutions and provides add-on functionality and upgrades, gaining detailed insights into members’ experiences is critical for identifying opportunities for improvement. This is why OCHIN participated in the KLAS survey and joined the Arch Collaborative, a group of health care organizations committed to improving the EHR experience.
Results from the KLAS survey, which was sent to over 35,000 OCHIN Epic Users for the first time this year, indicated high overall satisfaction with the platform:
- OCHIN Epic clinical end users are very satisfied overall, ranking in the 100th percentile of all HCCN/FQHC Arch Collaborative members and in the 75th percentile of all Arch Collaborative members.
- OCHIN’s Builder programs improve satisfaction and reduce burden.
- OCHIN Epic physician users score 24.4 points higher in EHR satisfaction as compared to all physician users in the Arch Collaborative.
In addition to the KLAS results, OCHIN Epic achieved 2024 Epic Connect Accredited+ status. Epic Connect Accreditation is reserved for hosts that “have happy Connect sites, demonstrate good Epic use, and are following Connect best practices,” according to Epic. Accredited+ is the highest level of Connect Accreditation.
Though the KLAS survey results and Epic recognition place OCHIN among a select group of top performers, the organization continues to identify new ways to further support members and elevate best practices as they work to transform care in their communities. For example, the OCHIN RISES platform (Resources for Improving Services, Equity, and Success) acts as a comprehensive, centralized resource for OCHIN’s growing portfolio of offerings and provides a tiered roadmap with actionable, data-driven steps to help members get the most out of their partnership with OCHIN. Future programs, such as ReCharge and Retrofit, will empower members to elevate their practice by helping them to adopt and optimize best practice tools and features in key operational areas, improving access to equitable, high-quality care.
