The health care industry is constantly shifting and changing and moving and grooving. Adding to that, we here at OCHIN know that every company has their own unique systems and processes. We have found that experts in HIT benefit from trainings designed to acclimate
employees to these unique systems and help them find the right fit in their field.
Enter the OCHIN Apprenticeship Program!
The OCHIN Apprenticeship program was created in 2011 out of our desire to fuel a growing company with educated, well-qualified employees. Our apprentices train anywhere from 3-6 months and get the best we have to offer: Communication, mentorship, and support from our seasoned staff, and a “leg up” in an industry where the competition is fierce and the passion to serve is even fiercer.
Demonstrated aptitude for customer service, information technology, analytical capability, and ability to work on a team; clinical experience or a programming background is preferred but not required. The ability to learn on the job is critical, as healthcare and the supporting technology platforms are constantly evolving. There is also a screening to fit OCHIN culturally, as constant learning and development are a large part of the atmosphere fostered within OCHIN, and one of its core missions.
Details: Classes of 6-12 apprentices are brought in at one time. While this program is constantly evolving to meet the current needs of the organization, typical apprentice duties include: learning about the Epic platform, community health, and OCHIN; working directly with OCHIN members and teammates to resolve day-to-day issues; identifying, analyzing, and implementing data to optimize healthcare technology information and organizational data to support cross-operational functions.
