Partnership Process & Expectations

OCHIN has built and manages a powerful research data warehouse and a health care research team that is unlike any other found in the nation (click here to learn more). Our organizational structure is also unique from other health systems-based research institutes in that each of our health center sites operates independently of OCHIN and has full decision-making authority to determine the projects and studies they will support. Therefore, it is imperative that potential partners reach out and engage OCHIN as quickly as possible in accordance with the timelines outlined below:

New to OCHIN? Formulating new partnerships and learning about OCHIN requires time. If you are a new partner or a partner that has not yet worked on a funded project with OCHIN, expect that it will take approximately 90 days from the delivery of your draft aims to the time you’ll need partner materials returned to your institution. This window of time is used for proposal vetting, engagement of our stakeholder groups, approval, prep-to-research, and proposal development.

Existing Partners? Partners who have worked with OCHIN on funded projects before should expect that it will take 60 days from the delivery of your draft aims to the time you’ll need partner materials returned to your institution. This window of time is used for proposal vetting, approval, prep-to-research, and proposal development.
