OCHIN leverages—and helps clinics leverage—federal and state programs that support and incentivize quality improvement, expansion of access, and healthier communities.
FCC Healthcare Connect Fund
To improve access to quality care in rural and medically underserved areas, OCHIN and the California Telehealth Network help hundreds of clinics and hospitals connect to high-speed medical grade broadband networks with subsidy funding from the Healthcare Connect Fund. This FCC program dedicates $400 million annually to the expansion of access by health care providers to robust broadband networks. We are also advocating nationally for expansion of HCF funding to support more clinics in communities of need across the country.
Health Center Controlled Network Award
OCHIN administers two HRSA-funded Health Center Controlled Network (HCCN) awards through which we provide federally qualified health centers with technology solutions and support services to help them provide the best care to their patients and improve health outcomes for some of our nation’s most vulnerable populations.
Our technology and knowledge solutions are built with Meaningful Use in mind. From customized EHR and reporting tools to workflow design and consulting services, we have the tools clinics need to provide high quality care, capture the right data, and track and improve performance over time to meet Meaningful Use objectives.
We know how important Uniform Data System (UDS) reporting and the associated funding are to community health centers, and we have the collective expertise, best practice workflows, guidebooks, and reporting tools you need to successfully capture and report UDS data.
340B Drug Discount Program
This federal drug discount program requires drug manufacturers to provide outpatient drugs to eligible organizations at significantly reduced prices. OCHIN’s FQHCs and RCHs, Ryan White HIV/Aids program grantees, homeless clinics, Urban Indian clinics, and other eligible clinics can participate. Both patient and the clinic can benefit.
