Anita Monoian is the President and CEO of Yakima Neighborhood Health Services (YNHS) in Yakima Washington, and has served in this position since 1979. YNHS was established in 1975 to serve the working poor of the community, and has grown to a full-scope primary care organization, now serving an average of 700 patients and clients per day in eight sites and a mobile medical unit.

Anita has been a strong voice for the uninsured and medically underserved for many years.  She is a Past Chair of the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC).  In her tenure with NACHC, Anita also served as Vice Speaker of the house and other leadership positions.  She is past Chair of Northwest Regional Primary Care Association, Chair of the PTSO of Washington – a Community Health Center Controlled Network, and is on the Executive Committee of the Washington Association of Community and Migrant Health Centers (WACMHC).  Anita served for 18 years as a member of US Senator Slade Gorton’s Health Policy Committee and has been appointed by Washington’s Governors to several other committees.
